Throughout October, young people are mobilizing campuses and communities across the United States as they launch the Power Shift 100 Actions for 100% Clean Energy campaign. Designed to promote clean air, water and energy solutions, the campaign will feature 100 different events over the course of the month. Students will confront university administrations, businesses and government officials and demand nothing less than 100% clean energy solutions.
Since kicking off the campaign at the start of the month, these young activists have already rallied at the Virginia Tech coal plant, protested nuclear energy at Progress Energy Headquarters in Florida and fought the Keystone XL pipeline at Washington University in St. Louis. These actions are only the beginning: Upcoming events promise everything from marches to flash mobs to the “Biggest Anti-Fracking Rally EVER.”
With 100 different actions happening throughout the country, getting involved has never been easier. Check out the entire list of events to find out what’s happening in your community, and join Power Shift in creating a “safer, healthier future for us all.”
