Save the world without leaving your chair

Here at The Climate Reality Project, we work with some incredibly dedicated climate activists. From a woman who solo rows around the world to share the truth about climate change, to a high school student who travels thousands of miles every year to take part in climate conferences, to the thousands of protesters who circled the White House to oppose importing tarsands oil to the U.S., there’s no shortage of individuals who inspire us by proving that the actions of a single person can help change our world.

But you don’t have to cross an ocean, pack your bags, or even leave your house to take action against climate change. In fact, we’ve teamed up with SocialVest to show that even the smallest actions can make a big difference. For every “Like” SocialVest receives on Facebook before December 23, they will donate $1 to The Climate Reality Project. So take a minute to visit the SocialVest Facebook page, or just click the “Like” button at the top of this post, and feel good knowing that you have helped us continue the fight for our climate.

Faster than we think …. or would ever like to really know. World governments have already wasted 14? years with Kyoto Protocol and now they are starting to pull out (ie Canada). I’m definitely not a guru but we better move a lot faster than we are.

As a Canadian I am ashamed of the lack of climate protection by the present Canadian conservative government. They are hardly worse however, than the previous governments that talked carbon control, but did nothing, as documented in the book “Hot Air” by Canadian columnist Jeffery Simpson. In ten years the conservative party of Stephen Harper has moved from outright climate change denial to a promise to do something later. The answer to this is forceful grassroots actions to force our “leaders” to get serious about the plight of the Earth.
