John Podesta
Senior Advisor to the President for International Climate Policy, The White House
John Podesta (he/him) is the senior advisor to President Joe Biden for international climate policy at the White House. He initially joined the White House in Sept 2022 as the senior advisor to the president for clean energy innovation and implementation to lead the rollout of clean energy provisions under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). In his new role, he works with the SPEC office at the State Department and the National Security Council to represent the US as a champion of bold climate action, as well as continuing to oversee the team implementing the IRA. Previously, John served as counselor to President Barack Obama on climate policy and chief of staff to President Bill Clinton. He is founder and former chair of the DC-think tank Center for American Progress.
