Pete Harckham

Pete Harckham (he/him) was first elected to the New York State Senate in November 2018. The chair of the Senate Environmental Conservation Committee, he is a well-regarded champion of the environment, helping to have passed the toughest climate protection legislation in the nation. Pete has introduced bills, later enacted, requiring all new passenger car and truck sales to be zero emission by 2035, streamlining the process for municipal renewable energy projects, and protecting the Hudson River from radioactive waste.
