New Customizable Climate Reality Project Website to Pioneer Online to Offline Action

Boulder, CO – (June 10, 2014) The Climate Reality Project is unveiling a refresh of its website, www.climaterealityproject.org, that is aimed at educating and empowering users to take action on climate change. It serves as a tool for visitors of every stripe to move the ball forward on climate change through a customizable, action-oriented interface.

“Technology has changed the way we live and the new website will fully utilize technology’s potential to catalyze action around this generation-defining issue,” said Ken Berlin, CEO of The Climate Reality Project. “The new site is designed to get people involved online by learning, sharing, and taking action. Ultimately, we want to take online interest and turn it into offline involvement. This is not a traditional website, it’s a tool for action.”

Created with the user experience in mind, the site has been visually redesigned, and is easily tailored to the user based on their knowledge of the issue and their interest in taking action.

The Climate Reality Project’s digital team collaborated with Made Movement, a Boulder, Colorado-based advertising agency to design and develop the website.

The new site encourages users to:

  • Get smart. A section of the site will educate those who are just learning about the topic. It includes quizzes, videos and other educational tools.
  • Get loud. The site also gives people the tools to share facts and insights about climate change. It is home to petitions, social media engagement opportunities, and other online actions.
  • Get active. Moving online engagement to offline action, the new site will show users how they can use their time, energy, and skills to affect change. It will offer information about volunteer, media, and other offline leadership opportunities.

The Climate Reality Project’s existing initiatives will be worked into the new format. These campaigns include I AM PRO SNOW, What I Love, 24 Hours of Reality, People vs. Carbon, TheCostOfCarbon.Org, The Guitar of Reality, Reality Drop, and the Climate Reality Leadership Corps.
