(She/Her/Hers) Madeline is originally from Norfolk, Virginia. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology at the College of William & Mary before moving to Washington, DC to join the Teach for America corps. As a high school science teacher, Madeline sought to emphasize the relevance of science in her student’s everyday lives, honing her skills surrounding culturally responsive teaching. While teaching, she pursued a master’s degree in education with concentrations in policy and leadership from American University. She then transitioned to working in the non-profit space at DC School Reform Now, where she focused on maintaining community partnerships, oversaw the training & management of consultants, and honed digital strategy. When she’s not working, Madeline enjoys hiking, exploring DC, raiding Little Free Libraries, and spending time tending her ever-growing vegetable garden.
