Make a difference for the planet this October and join the Climate Reality Leadership Corps by attending our free virtual US training. At the event, you’ll gain the tools, knowledge, and network to fight against fossil fuels and build a more just world for all.

From October 17-23, a combination of on-demand programming and live skill-building sessions will explore three key themes:

Civic Engagement to Champion Climate Solutions and Protect Our Planet – Fostering strong civic engagement is vital to achieving lasting, equitable climate solutions and protecting our communities from the harms posed by fossil fuel interests. By actively participating in our democratic processes, we build power to shape the policies and initiatives that protect our planet

Overcoming Climate Obstructionism – From employing strategies like deceptive greenwashing and disinformation tactics to perpetuating false solutions, undermining climate education in schools, and delaying clean energy investments, fossil fuel interests have corrupted critical avenues for climate action. Making meaningful progress towards a more sustainable future requires all of us to play an active role in overcoming climate obstruction and disinformation.

Advancing America’s Clean and Just Energy Future – The transition to clean energy isn’t just about reducing emissions and addressing climate change, it’s about creating healthier homes and bringing hundreds of thousands of good paying jobs and new opportunities to our communities. The US is building momentum towards clean energy like never before thanks to recent legislative wins at the national level, as well as local and state climate investments and green bank development across the country.

The training, led by Climate Reality’s founder and chairman, former US Vice President Al Gore, will feature an all-star lineup of leading scientists, activists, and innovators, including Dr. Katharine Hayhoe, chief scientist, The Nature Conservancy; Chandra Farley, chief sustainability officer, City of Atlanta; Miranda Ehrlich, senior director of campaigns, Greenlight America; Staci Roberts-Steele, managing director and executive producer, Yellow Dot Studios; Matt Traldi, CEO and president, Greenlight America; Leia Lowery, executive director and co-founder, The Climate Initiative; and many, many more.

This is your chance to not only learn what the climate crisis means for you, but to build the skills and network to create real change for the country and the planet.

We believe that together, we can create a world where we rapidly transition away from fossil fuels to end the climate crisis, safeguard our health, strengthen our communities’ well-being, and ensure justice for those who have been marginalized in the past.

During the virtual training, you can expect to:

  • Hear from leading experts on strategies to implement practical clean energy and sustainability solutions across the US.
  • Gain an understanding of the road ahead for the climate movement and how we make a rapid transition to clean energy by promoting justice and equity.
  • Connect with other Climate Reality Leaders and become a member of our global network of activists.
  • Strengthen and build your skills in advocacy, community organizing, and digital media outreach to be an effective activist and leader.

Our free event will take place virtually and feature programming each day between October 17-23, 2024.
