The Climate Reality Project Canada works to increase Canada’s commitment to climate action, starting from the ground up. In 2017, the branch launched a network of Community Climate Hubs across the country. Through these Hubs, Canadian Climate Reality Leaders work with their municipalities to develop plans and policies for reaching net-zero emissions by 2050. The branch’s work doesn’t end there. The branch also provides training on grassroots organizing for Climate Reality Leaders and Hub members. In addition, the branch has developed the National Climate League Standings inititive, where Community Climate Hubs collect climate and related data from 82 different municipalities to help local policymakers take a science-based approach to climate action.
