Reducing Emissions
Reducing Emissions
Cutting climate pollution. Creating a world of abundant and affordable clean energy.
Fossil fuel pollution is changing our climate and threatening our future.
The good news? The tools and technologies to rapidly transition to affordable clean energy alternatives like wind, solar, and energy storage are in our hands today.
Even better, clean energy is the cheapest form of new electricity worldwide and an industry that already puts over 16.2 million people to work worldwide, creating jobs and healthier communities across the planet.
Our Three Global Goals
Rapidly reducing fossil fuel emissions and replacing oil, coal, and gas with clean energy alternatives is the single most effective tool we have to stop rising temperatures.
The science is clear: When fossil fuel emissions effectively reach zero – known as true net zero – warming will stop in as little as three to five years. Within decades, the greenhouse gases trapping excess heat in the atmosphere begin to break down, enabling temperatures to fall and the Earth to heal.
That’s real cause for hope – and why we work for programs and policies that speed the just transition to clean energy we need to get there.
We mobilize people worldwide to work for initiatives that can help achieve three key global goals this decade:
How We Get There
Save with Clean Energy
Learn how US households, businesses, and communities can save thousands by embracing clean energy and technologies.
Identifying Top Polluters
Climate TRACE combines satellite data and artificial intelligence to map fossil fuel emitters worldwide.
Fighting Petrochemicals in the Ohio River Valley
Mobilizing communities to halt petrochemical expansion its tracks and ensure clean air and safe water for Ohio River Valley families.
Green Schools Campaign
Training and mobilizing students to shift their schools to clean energy.
Regenerative Agriculture
Helping the farms that feed us reduce emissions and improve soil health with federal incentives.
