Camille Étienne

Social and Climate Justice Activist

Camille Etienne is a 26-year-old activist for social and climate justice. She is particularly active in opposing deep-sea mining in France, the Arctic, and international waters. She has participated in UN negotiations and engages in lobbying political and economic decision-makers, while also supporting and leading acts of civil disobedience alongside movements such as Les Soulèvements de la Terre and Stop EACOP. She incorporates art into her activism through dance, music, and her short fiction films (“Génération,” “Réveillons-nous,” “Glacier”) as well as her documentary “Pourquoi on se bat.” Recently, she published “Pour un soulèvement écologique: dépasser notre impuissance collective” (2023, Seuil).
