Carlo Buontempo
Director, Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S)/ECMWF
Carlo Buontempo is physicist by training who has been working on climate for the last 25 years. He is the director of the Copernicus Climate Change Service at ECMWF. In this capacity, he leads a large team of scientists and technical experts within ECMWF. He also coordinates the activities of the many contractors and research teams that allow the programme to meet its large and expanding global user base. Carlo has authored numerous peer reviewed publications and was a contributing author of the sixth assessment report of the IPCC.
