Danica Sun

Danica Sun (she/her) is a freshman at Stanford University planning to major in computer science and minor in Earth systems. She has served as at-large chair of the Climate Reality Project Chicago chapter, co-director of Fridays For Future Chicago, co-president of her high school environmental club/sustainability policy committee, co-director of the international conference GirlCon Tech, programming coordinator of LCOYUSA 2024 under YOUNGO/UNFCCC, and is on the youth advisory board of Climate Education For Illinois. Danica is also a member of It's Our Future/Seven Generations Ahead, through which she had the opportunity to represent Chicago youth as a delegate at COP 28. She spoke on three panels at COP 28, and before that as a main stage speaker for the Opening Climate Action Assembly of the 9th Parliament of the World's Religions. Danica's work has garnered media attention from the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, NBC5, Fox News Chicago, NPR Chicago, and more. Danica intends to explore and utilize technology and policy as tools for addressing climate solutions throughout her time at college and beyond.
