Rooted and continuously molded by lessons from the so-called lands of HTX/CDMX/NYC as homes, Daniela “Dani” Castillo (elle/ella, they/she) brings a passion for the intersection of urban-environmental ecologies as program director of the Green Light District at El Puente – a human rights, community-based organization based in North Brooklyn (Los Sures and Bushwick). With a background in design and urban ecologies from The New School and on-the-ground experience with mutual aid coordinating within their neighborhood, Dani remains informed, grounded, and guided by work and movements that prioritize solidarity economy visions, just transition principles, and interconnected abolitionist horizons rooted in self-determined efforts towards liberator.
