Dean Barone (he/him) lives in Houston, TX, and is the director of Barone International, Inc., which is dedicated to sustainable development projects and proactive climate advocacy. He trained to become a Climate Reality Leader in Manila in 2016. With over three decades of experience and numerous accreditations, including a LEED & WELL professional, he has led the delivery of 30 million square feet of LEED-certified projects worldwide, including 11 LEED Platinum-certified projects, making a significant impact in addressing the climate crisis. The Climate Reality Project entrusted Dean with a transformative mission: to lead an all-volunteer team of Climate Reality Leaders to inspire business leaders to take just, inclusive, and sustainable actions in response to their companies' impact on the climate crisis. Since 2017, the Climate Business Working Group (CBWG) has successfully worked with Climate Reality Leaders worldwide to bring awareness to the business community.  In 2023, the CBWG created the Climate Business Action campaign. This campaign introduces the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) benefits and opportunities, including funding resources, planning tools, and training opportunities targeted at small businesses. The Climate Business Action campaign has been focused on educating and inspiring business leaders to embrace climate-conscious strategies that safeguard the well-being of future generations while ensuring business prosperity.
