Ian is an executive leader and consultant with 25 years of experience in the environmental, energy and climate-solution sectors with an extensive record of achieving strategic outcomes by bringing people together from a wide variety of teams and organizations. As a strategic thought leader, he has led advocacy on many high-profile climate action and national policy decisions in Canada, including outcomes at the Supreme Court of Canada. Prior to joining the team as Acting Executive Director, Ian was a member of The Climate Reality Project Canada’ board of directors for 15 years. He spent four years in executive leadership positions at the David Suzuki Foundation, including as Acting Executive Director, and was previously the Foundation’s Director of Science and Policy, a mandate that focused strongly on climate solutions. Ian works and lives with his family on the unceded traditional territory of the Skwxwú7mesh-ulh Temíx̱w (Squamish) Nation.
