Iris Zhan (they/them/theirs) has been a climate activist, organizer and advocate since 14. Iris has started both local and international initiatives such as the Sunrise Movement Howard County hub and Fridays For Future Digital (FFF Digital). They are also working to build a local youth activist coalition in their community. Their focus is promoting capacity building, empowerment, and creating a more intersectional and accessible global climate justice movement. Iris graduated from high school in Maryland in June 2022, is on a gap year from Wellesley College, and will study international relations-political science. In their spare time, Iris enjoys playing guitar, dancing, producing original music, reading, cooking, and writing standup comedy.
