Itzel Morales Lagunes is the Interim Branch Manager of The Climate Reality Project Latin America. She works in serving a community of 5,600 climate leaders in 22 countries in the region. Since 2018 she has led initiatives such as “Operation COP 2024”, “Multiply for the Climate”, and “Invest in the Planet” with financing from TikTok and UNEP in 2023. A graduate in Biochemical Engineering, she holds a master's degree in Climate Change from Heriot-Watt University. As a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow, she completed a professional stay at the University of California, Davis. Itzel has been a consultant for the United States Forest Service's International Climate Change Seminar and has facilitated workshops for the Center for Story-Based Strategy in Costa Rica and the United States. Recognized for her dedication to climate action, she received the Youth Award from the Government of Campeche and was featured in Al Gore's book Truth to Power.
