Klara Butz is a finance campaigner with Urgewald and at The Climate Reality Project Europe. She graduated from the University of Vienna as a physicist and meteorologist. As a student, she participated in the very first climate strike in Austria. It wasn't long before she was dedicating most of her time to climate action. Together with Fridays for Future, she negotiated with politicians, pushed media outreach, and worked on campaigns. It was during a campaign against coal financing by Austrian banks that she joined Urgewald, a German environmental and human rights NGO. Now, Klara is committed to making our financial systems fossil-free.
