Peter Conroy is the senior writer at The Climate Reality Project where he oversees narrative strategy and messaging for the marketing and communications team. Prior to joining Climate Reality, he worked as a writer, fundraiser, and curator with leading New York literary and arts institutions including The Paris Review and Brooklyn Academy of Music. His career has also included stints as a bartender to biker gangs, bike messenger, homeless advocate, and occasional math teacher, proving that you really can do anything with a graduate degree in English literature. Except, maybe, retire early. Outside of the office, Peter thinks of himself as a cyclist in much the same way Keanu Reeves thinks of himself as an actor and has become a virtual Buddhist after three decades supporting Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, discovering every weekend the truth of the dictum “Existence is suffering.” He lives in Asheville, North Carolina with a beautiful woman with thankfully poor vision and worse judgment, two amazing kids who never laugh at his jokes, and two intellectually challenged dogs who frequently outsmart him.
