I AM PRO SNOW Campaign Releases Video Featuring Ambassadors Mark Abma, Michelle Parker and Doug Stoup
Boulder, Colorado (April 1, 2014) – Today, The Climate Reality Project’s I AM PRO SNOW campaign released the second in a two-part video series, featuring I AM PRO SNOW ambassadors and snow sports enthusiasts Mark Abma, Michelle Parker, and Doug Stoup. This light-hearted video follows a similar spot featuring two-time U.S. Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety and is designed to raise awareness about a serious subject: how climate change is hurting snow sports and what snow fans can do about it.
In 2013, I AM PRO SNOW, along with Warren Miller Entertainment, sent Ligety, Parker, Stoup, and Abma to Greenland so they could witness the effects of climate change firsthand. The two-part video series gives viewers a peek behind-the-scenes with amusing outtakes from interviews between Pro Snow Ambassadors and their buddy Snow.
Abma and Parker, professional freeskiers, and Stoup, a professional adventurer, are just a few of Climate Reality’s I AM PRO SNOW Ambassadors, an extraordinary group of athletes and explorers dedicated to fighting climate change by sharing their passion for snow and their personal experience with changing conditions caused by carbon pollution.
The Climate Reality Project’s I AM PRO SNOW campaign – now in its third year – partners with key stakeholders to expand the conversation around climate change to the members of the winter sports community. The grassroots initiative brings together the skiers, riders, and winter sports enthusiasts most affected by warming winters and shorter seasons to advance the dialogue about the threats climate change poses, generate solutions, and mobilize for action.
