New York, NY (Nov. 15, 2012) — The Climate Reality Project's 24 Hours of Reality: The Dirty Weather Report concluded with 16.8 million views from all over the world and a call on our global leaders for immediate action to confront and solve the climate crisis.

24 Hours of Reality: The Dirty Weather Report was a global event broadcast live on the Internet for a full 24 hours. Led by the Climate Reality Project's Founder and Chairman, former Vice President Al Gore, the event brought together scientists, business leaders, national security experts, cultural leaders, and activists from around the world.

Along with the 16.8 million views, the event received 146 million impressions on Twitter.

24 Hours of Reality: The Dirty Weather Report has triggered a new call to action on climate change. As we see the price tag of dirty weather events mounting and bear witness to the myriad impacts on devastated communities across our country and around the world, we know that the time for decisive action is overdue,” says Maggie L. Fox, President and CEO of The Climate Reality Project. “Millions of people are adding their voices to the chorus demanding action from our leaders now.”

24 Hours of Reality took place just weeks after Superstorm Sandy devastated the Northeast region, and concluded the day after President Obama called for a national conversation on climate change. The message of the event was simple: Pollution from Dirty Energy is disrupting our climate, leading to Dirty Weather like heat waves, extreme storms, floods, droughts, and wildfires. Now is the time to demand action from the leaders of the world to work toward clean energy solutions.
