Statement from Climate Reality President and CEO Ken Berlin on the Build Back Better Act Framework

The announced framework for the Build Back Better Act is a transformative investment in climate solutions that will push us towards our goal to halve our carbon emissions in the next decade and move us far closer to a full ​and just transition to a clean energy economy. 

Today’s announcement is the result of years of hard work by activists, scientists, organizers, and elected officials. This is our climate moment and thanks to those efforts, the Biden Administration and Congressional leaders are poised to deliver a bill that will make real progress toward protecting frontline communities, deploying clean, renewable energy, creating good-paying union jobs, and paving the way for a carbon-free future. 

Now, Congress must move swiftly to pass this legislation and deliver on the promise of equitable and inclusive climate action. As the United States prepares for COP 26, this legislation ensures that we enter those negotiations in a strong position to drive the necessary ambition from our global partners.
