Statement from Climate Reality President and CEO Phyllis Cuttino on the Ongoing Effort to Restrict Access to Vital Climate Science at the Federal Level
“We are witnessing a full-frontal assault on the federal government’s role in providing reliable science and data to the American public. Federal agencies like EPA, NOAA, and Department of Interior have long been invaluable resources for decision-makers in the public and private sectors to inform policy, regulation, investment, and public safety. Dismantling this infrastructure will make communities across the country less safe from fires, floods, hurricanes, and air pollution.
The Trump administration and its Department of Government Efficiency’s efforts to scrub, and potentially shutter, government websites that provide critical, science-based information will only ensure one thing–the American public’s heightened exposure to disinformation that could harm people and communities. At The Climate Reality Project, we will continue to support and share evidence-based, reputable science that honors the truth about the climate crisis.”
