"If we’re going to halve greenhouse gas emissions driving the climate crisis by 2030, our first step must be to wholly reimagine American transportation. The vehicles we make today will shape our emissions – and the emissions of our trade partners –  for decades to come. 

“Federal fuel economy standards are essential to the climate fight, to guaranteeing that communities around the country have clean and safe air to breathe, and to ensuring the United States’ leadership as a global clean energy powerhouse. We applaud President Biden for restoring these important standards and setting ambitious goals for EV adoption. The challenge now is for the whole of government to work together towards even more aggressive emissions rules that allow us to meet our climate goals. Through bold investments in the upcoming budget reconciliation package for EV, charging infrastructure, and manufacturing, alongside supportive policy measures, we can propel the country towards 100% EV adoption by 2035 and drive full speed ahead into a carbon-free future."
