“Protecting the right to vote is not only foundational to the future of our democracy, but essential to the fight against the climate crisis.

“For too long, bad-faith efforts to obstruct voting access and deny the will of the people, especially communities of color disproportionately targeted by voting discrimination, have prevented progress on climate action, racial and economic justice, and a host of other issues that impact American families each day. Now, some states are using lies to justify further violations of voting rights and the appointment of partisans to undermine our election integrity.

“Climate Reality commends our leaders in the House of Representatives for working to enshrine these voting protections in law. We urge their colleagues in the Senate to carry this legislation across the finish line by any means necessary and continue to fight against the ongoing, unprecedented assaults on our most basic right as Americans.”
