Ryan Towell
Science, Solutions, and Policy Vice President, The Climate Reality Project
In his role at Climate Reality, Ryan Towell (he/him) leads the organization’s science and policy research functions. He coordinates staff and other resources to deliver accurate, high-quality research. A degreed meteorologist, he also advises staff, partners, and volunteers on recent developments in climate science and solutions. He helps the solutions team develop, review, and ensure high quality Climate Reality materials on climate science; gathers and synthesizes climate science information to support programmatic and fundraising efforts; fields requests for climate science information from the public; and represents the organization at scientific briefings, conferences, and meetings and maintains close working relationships with academic and government scientists, amongst several other responsibilities. A member of the American Meteorological Society and self-described weather geek, Ryan previously worked as an on-air meteorologist and reporter in Texas and Minnesota. After a stint as a forecaster, content producer, and product manager at WeatherBug, he helped federal, state, and local officials understand and prepare for the impacts of climate change.
