Sheila Foster

Sheila Foster (she/her) is a professor of law and public policy at Georgetown University and visiting professor at Columbia Climate School. Sheila is one of the leading scholars on environmental justice and is the co-author of one of the field’s seminal books, “From the Ground Up: Environmental Racism and the Rise of the Environmental Justice Movement” (NYU Press). She is well known for her work with government agencies and public officials on environmental, climate, and urban policy. Sheila was the chair of the advisory committee of the Global Parliament of Mayors from 2017-2020 and is a member of the New York City Panel on Climate Change, where she co-chairs the working group on climate equity.
