Q: Can I attend this virtual training if I am already a Climate Reality Leader?

Q: What sort of networking opportunities will there be during the virtual training?
A: You’ll have two main opportunities to connect with other participants during the training:
- During the live skill-building workshop(s) you attend, you’ll connect with other participants to network, ask the experts questions, and practice the skills you learn in on-demand sessions.
- In the registration form, you can opt to be included in a discussion group facilitated by a previously trained Climate Reality Leader that will meet twice live on Zoom during the training to discuss the broadcasts, training content, network, and help you find opportunities to take action.
After the training is over, you will gain access to Reality Hub, our exclusive online community for trained Climate Reality Leaders. On Reality Hub, you’ll be able to join coalitions across regions and interests, access former Vice President Gore's iconic slide decks, and be a part of the broader Climate Reality Leader network.
Q: Will I be able to access the training content after the event is over?
A: All on-demand sessions and handouts will be available on the training platform through October 23 when the platform closes. If you finish the training requirements, you will become a Climate Reality Leader and get full access to Reality Hub, the Climate Reality Project’s exclusive online community platform for Climate Reality Leaders. Some of the on-demand sessions and materials from the training along with the slideshows presented by Vice President Gore will be available on Reality Hub or on our website after the training.
Q: Can I still go to an in-person training if I go to an online one?
A: You may still apply to attend an in-person training even if you have attended a virtual training in the past. Space can be limited for in-person trainings, so you would need to apply. A separate registration or application is required for each training you would like to attend. Sign up for our email list to learn when our trainings are announced. We also encourage those who have already been trained as Climate Reality Leaders to apply to serve as mentors. To request the mentor application, please send an email to [email protected].
Q. What is the Climate Reality Leadership Corps?
A. By attending this training with our founder and chairman, former US Vice President Gore, you will join the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, the nucleus of Climate Reality’s global network of 3.5 million supporters. Climate Reality Leaders inspire action on practical climate solutions and fight for a sustainable, just, and equitable future.
Q. What is a Climate Reality chapter?
A. A Climate Reality chapter is a democratically led, local group of climate activists and community leaders within the United States that share Climate Reality’s mission of advocating for action to combat the climate crisis and supporting the transition to a clean energy economy. Chapters enable members to network with fellow leaders; recruit additional volunteers; take action at the local, state, and federal levels; and become a powerful force for climate action in their communities. You can learn more about chapters and find one to join near you here.
Q. What is a climate action?
A. Climate actions are any actions you take to help address the climate crisis. We encourage and support all kinds of climate action and focus our global campaign work around four topics that we feel are particularly important this century to slashing emissions and leading a just transition to clean energy. These four campaign areas are:
- Reducing Emissions
- Reforming Global Climate Finance
- Combatting Greenwashing
- Strengthening International Cooperation on Climate
If we transition away from fossil fuels and towards clean energy solutions, we can mitigate catastrophic climate change and ensure a safer, healthier, and happier life for communities around the world. The Climate Reality Project will help you get started in climate advocacy opportunities that help build the political will to drive change through education, mobilization, and organizing.
